Details for all of our web hosting plans, at a very low-level granularity (this is the “nitty gritty” if you don’t speak geek).

Servers

• Custom-tuned FreeBSD kernels for performance and efficiency
• OS-level firewall
• All data is stored in RAID configurations for maximum availability
• System is designed to act as a cluster, failure of any one particular machine will not result in downtime
• Daily off-site backups

MySQL

• Database server has dedicated hardware with 500MB Query Cache

Apache

• Hardened against Denial of Service Attacks
• Content compression for all text-based content
• Shared SSL certificate (http://secure.ideanode.com/[yourdomainhere])

Email

• 10MB maximum message size
• Spamassassin 3.x
• High-Performance IMAP server
• Webmail connections go through an IMAP proxy to increase performance
• SMTP AUTH on port 587 for sending email from anywhere, to anyone, so that you don’t find yourself on the road unable to use your standard mail client

Blogging Software

Fully support:

• Movable Type
